At 7 pm, Nov. 24th, School of Humanities’ Theatre Play 2020 “Othello” was officially put on the stage. The play was directed by Professor Li Zhongshi. Most of the roles were played by the students of the School of Humanities, and many students from other schools also joined. The play ran for two nights, nearly two thousand teachers and students enjoyed the show.
The “Othello” was supposed to be performed in the spring term of 2020, but due to the Covid-19, it was showed up online as a radio play on May 20th. Through both the “CUPL School of Humanities’ online classroom” and the live-streaming platform of Bilibili, nearly 5000 people watched the show and highly praised it. In this term, the “Othello” was finally presented on the real stage.
The series of School of Humanities’ Theatre Play has been successfully performed for many years, including “Hamlet” in 2012, “Romeo and Juliet” in 2014, “Macbeth” in 2016, and “Othello” in 2020.
