Brief Introduction:
The Department of Philosophy at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) was formally established in June 2002. It is affiliated to the School of Humanities and is a multidisciplinary institute for the development of CUPL. It can be traced back to the Department of Philosophy & History of Communist Party of China established in 1952. The department has developed a strong research and teaching profile. The department has over 30 academic staff, including 12 professors (1 Distinguished Professor), 5 PhD supervisors, and 11 associate professors.
The department has two affiliated institutes: the Institute of Philosophy and the Institute of Logic. The two institutes bring together the research and development strengths in one integrated department. In recent years, the Department of Philosophy has steadily promoted the reform of professional training programs, teaching methods and curriculum systems.
Educational Objective:
The program aims at preparing students to become high-quality interdisciplinary professionals. At the time of graduation, it is expected that each student should have built up relatively solid foundation of philosophy and excellent competence of theoretical thoughts; acquired the ability to apply philosophical thoughts to understand and analyze the theoretical and practical problems; possessed sound humanity and scientific quality, legal cultural spirit, strong social responsibility and wide international vision; had good interpersonal and social communication ability; borne team work spirit and certain innovative and enterprise capability. The student will be competent in working in various areas, such as government, enterprises and other institutions.
