Center for Forensic Linguistics (CFL) was founded in 2ooo, and is affiliated with School of Humanities of China University of Political Science and Law(CUPL). The Center is the first research institution to take the interdisciplinary research on Chinese legal languages and forensic languages. Research at the Centre involves all aspects of legal languages as well as forensic linguistics, such as how the police and the courts can best work with interpreters to the development and refinement of methods for identifying the author of disputed forensic texts. The main approach is to apply the theories, constructs and analytical methods of linguistics to questions which arise in legislation, civil, criminal and security investigations and adjudication. We have published widely and have lectured about our research for over ten years. Through high-quality research, we ensure that our undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses, as well as our investigative work, have a solid academic foundation.
