Thiscourse is devoted to exploring some main concepts of Western Philosophy. The objective of this course is to enable students to have a general and concise understanding of those concepts which are deeply embedded in the western philosophical tradition. In doing so, it will lay a solid foundation for future research. The topics to be lectured include: Love and Knowledge; the meaning of existence; the concept of self; passions and laws, the limits of sensation and understanding; pleasure, disgust and art, the health of body and mind; reason and death. |
